Ramadan: A Time for Giving and Compassion.
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) said "Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person." [Tirmidhi]
Embracing the Spirit of Giving
As we look ahead to next Ramadan, we at Community Lighthouse Foundation invite you to join our Ramadan Appeal to feed families an Iftar meal after a day of fasting. The beautiful month filled with blessings is a meaningful moment for givingcharity during Ramadan, a time when acts of kindness are seen and when many turn to compassion.
Your contribution will make a real difference in the lives of those in need. You have the chance to help families all through the world to enjoy Iftar this Ramadan. We are providing food parcels in Gaza, Africa, Pakistan, Yemen, and Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
Each Iftar Food Parcel will include essential staple foods such as rice, wholegrains, oats and more, all of which will help to feed a family of 4 for the month of Ramadan.
Why Charity in Ramadan Matters
The month of Ramadan is more than just refraining from food and water. It is about cleansing our souls from bad habits and welcoming positive ones. Charity in Ramadan has been practised throughout the history of Islam, making it a tradition within Islamic teachings. It has also been narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) was once asked which charity is best, to which he responded, “charity in Ramadan.” [Tirmidhi]
It has been stated that the one who fasts, prays and gives charity is of the believers. With this in mind, your donations in Ramadan are not just acts of goodwill, they are a means of worship.
Zakat and Sadaqah with Community Lighthouse Foundation
Community Lighthouse Foundation also take donations in the form of Zakat. A Zakat Calculator is available on our website to help you work out the portion of wealth you must allocate as Zakat. With Zakat being the Third Pillar in Islam, and an obligatory act upon a believer, when combined with any voluntary donation in Ramadan, your chance of gaining rewards blooms even more. The simplest act of giving, such as providing food to the one in need can transform the life of an individual facing hardship on a day-to-day basis.
Where Your Donation is Used
The funds raised for our Ramadan Appeal will be used to provide iftar meals and essential supplies to the communities that are struggling. This project is a means to help others with sincerity and compassion.
The Messenger of Allah (Peace be Upon Him) has said, “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection is his charity” [Tirmidhi]. When you contribute now, you are already planting seeds of goodness for next Ramadan and beyond.
Make Your Intention Today
We here at Community Lighthouse Foundation invite you to set your intention in giving charity during Ramadan 2026, donating even the smallest amount to our Ramadan Appeal this year. Any amount given will ensure the moment of need is met with timely action. Your donation will not only help the one you give to, but will feed your own spirit, building blessings across the community.
Embrace the gift of giving, and donate with an open heart. Join us in making our Ramadan Appeal 2026 fruitful, bringing hope and mercy to those in dire need.
